As we are rapidly approaching the warm Summer weather, we are all probably finding ourselves filled with excitement as we plan activities. However, NOW is also the time that we need to start planning our Fifth Annual Native American Day Gathering. If we want our upcoming event to be successful, which Im sure we all do, this is the time to begin striving to reach our goal. While our gatherings in the past have been both successful and fun, we need to strive for more than we have in the past. As usual, our most important problem is the lack of money. Little Wren, Three Hawks and I are currently working on a fundraiser that will hopefully generate money. However, It will not be enough. We would like to have guest drummers, dancers, as well as provide prizes for contests, etc.. If you have any suggestions, please do not hesitate to bring them up. This is paramount to a successful gathering. We are also in sore need of crafts to be donated to the U.E.I.A so that they may be sold at the gathering and shows. Please contribute. Everything helps. This is also the time to renew old contacts with anyone who could be of assistance for the gathering. Please be aware that although we have had support in the past, we need help from every member. There is something for everyone to do. There are myriad of things that need to be done to make the gathering a success. As a member, you, too have a stake in this. So put your thinking caps on and let us know as soon as possible where you think you can help. Remember that this is your gathering, too.
